Dr. Tim Jansa
Higher Education Consultant and
Board-Certified Executive Coach
Over the past two decades, Dr. Tim Jansa has gained deep administrative and leadership expertise in higher education by serving in various capacities at both large research-intensive urban universities and private institutions. He has successfully led teams of non-academic staff while influencing academic, operational, and leadership decisions. His areas of accountability have spanned HR and finance/budget administration, IT, facilities, departmental operations, scholarships, contracts and legal agreements, as well as maintaining and implementing college and university policies and procedures.
Before transitioning to higher education, Dr. Jansa worked as a trainer and consultant in the nonprofit sector, helping multinational manufacturing and automotive corporations tackle intercultural communication challenges.ย
As a higher education coach and consultant, he continually leverages his deep understanding of college and university organizational leadership and communication dynamics to help his clients achieve meaningful, impactful, sustainable, and transformational results.
A certified professional coach, Dr. Jansa predominantly helps department chairs, directors, and mid-/college-level administrators navigate pressing challenges and develop new leaders transitioning from the faculty to leadership or supervisory roles. He also maintains a close network with current and former deans, provosts, and university (vice) presidents whom he has coached in short-term solutions-focused engagement around specific leadership challenges.
As such, Dr. Jansaโs coaching experience spans the full width of administrative and academic leadership, providing him with unique insights and the ability to help clients understand the complexities and implications of leadership actions across their institutions.
As an independent affiliate consultant with Gateway International Group, Dr. Jansa works with directors of international offices to devise innovative instructional solutions for students to attain enhanced global skills and intercultural communicative competencies.
An engaging trainer, speaker, and presenter on topics ranging from organizational communication, intercultural skills, learning and development, and language acquisition to coaching, he has logged well over 12,000 hours transforming minds, building bridges, and creating awareness.
Dr. Jansa holds an earned doctorate (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Leadership from Georgia State University. He is a Board Certified Coach (BCC-CCE) and holds an ICF-Level 2 certification. He is a Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC) and Agile Team Facilitator (ICP-ATF).
Dr. Tim Jansa is proud to be an avid lifelong learner, world traveler, and native speaker of both English and German with limited proficiency in a few other languages. He is also a classical music buff and composer, and a big fan of composer Gustav Mahler (1860-1911).
He is a resident of Atlanta, Georgia (USA) where he lives with his husband, Chris, and rescue dog Emma.
