About me

Dr. Tim Jansa
Higher Education Consultant & ICF and Board-Certified Coach
Everything DiSC® Certified Practitioner

As the higher education landscape continues to change with the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and shifting pressures and expectations on professionals at all levels, human needs, job satisfaction, agility, and empowering, positive people-centered leadership are now more critical than ever.

Over the past two decades, I have gained deep administrative and leadership expertise in higher education by serving in various capacities at both large, research-intensive urban universities and private institutions, where I have successfully led teams of non-academic staff while influencing academic, operational, and leadership decisions. My areas of accountability have spanned from HR and finance/budget administration, IT, facilities, departmental operations, scholarships, contracts, and legal agreements, to maintaining and implementing college and university policies and procedures.

Before transitioning to higher education, I worked as a trainer, consultant, and trusted advisor in the nonprofit sector, helping multinational manufacturing and automotive corporations tackle intercultural communication challenges.

As a higher education coach and consultant, it is my privilege to continually leverage my deep understanding of college and university organizational leadership and communication dynamics to help my clients achieve meaningful, impactful, sustainable, and transformational results.

A Wiley Everything DiSC® Certified Practitioner and ICF- and Board-certified professional coach with additional certifications as a Culture Change, Strategic Planning and Execution, and Change Leadership Coach, I specialize in helping leaders, such as department chairs, directors, and mid-/college-level administrators, navigate ever-changing demands and challenges. I am especially passionate about developing new leaders transitioning from faculty and staff positions to leadership or supervisory roles or entering higher education for the first time. As such, I maintain a close network with current and former deans, provosts, and university (vice) presidents whom I have coached in short-term solutions-focused engagement around specific leadership challenges.

My coaching experience now spans the full width of administrative and academic leadership, allowing me to leverage my unique insights to help clients understand the complexities and implications of leadership actions across their institutions.

At Michiki Morgan Worldwide, I currently serve as Coaching Team Lead for a bench of professional leadership coaches supporting a campus-wide development initiatives at large and complex organizations, such as The Ohio State University and the University of North Texas System.

An independent affiliate consultant with Gateway International Group, I work with international higher education leaders to devise innovative instructional solutions for students to attain enhanced global skills and intercultural communicative competencies.

An engaging trainer, speaker, and presenter on topics ranging from organizational communication, intercultural skills, learning and development, and language acquisition to coaching, I have logged well over 12,000 hours transforming minds, building bridges, and helping professionals grow and develop.

I holds an earned doctorate (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Leadership from Georgia State University. I am a Board (CCE-BCC) and ICF-Certificed coach (ACC), as well as an Everything DiSC® Certified Practitioner, Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC) and Agile Team Facilitator (ICP-ATF).

A proud and avid lifelong learner, world traveler, and native speaker of both English and German with limited proficiency in a few other languages, I’m alsoa classical music buff, composer, and a big fan of composer Gustav Mahler (1860-1911).

I’m a resident of Atlanta, Georgia (USA) where I live with my husband, Chris, and our rescue dog Emma.

I partner with colleges and universities to strengthen leadership, foster collaborative cultures, and accelerate organizational growth through professional coaching, training, facilitation, and team development (see Services). Drawing on deep higher education expertise and proven success in leading complex change, I help academic leaders and teams unlock their potential, enhance agility, and deliver lasting results.

By enhancing employee engagement, retention, and performance, my work reduces costly staff turnover, mitigates the expenses of failed initiatives, and maximizes the return on strategic investments. Institutions benefit from streamlined operations, more efficient decision-making, and increased capacity to attract and retain students—directly impacting both the bottom line and long-term institutional sustainability.

From navigating adaptive challenges to building trust across diverse stakeholders, I bring a holistic, people-driven approach grounded in Agile principles, continuous improvement, and a commitment to innovation. My work equips higher education professionals not only to respond to today’s demands but also to lead with vision, resilience, and confidence into the future.
